Edit and update a job post πŸ“†

Table of contents

    1 - Edit a published job post

Edit the job description and other fields

It is of course possible to edit, and restructure a job post even if it has been published (for instance if the missions change, if you have received constructive feedback from candidates...).

To edit a job post, go to the ATS dashboard  and click on your job. Once on the pipeline, click on Edit, then you can navigate into the job creation form to update the information you need:

πŸ’‘ All the modifications made will appear a few minutes after saving the job. We advise you to clear your browser cache (SHIFT + F5 for Windows or CMD + SHIFT + R for MAC) to see the updated version of your job.

If you have used Markdown syntax to put items in bold, title, italics, and you see mistakes; check that there are no spaces before the asterisks "*" : everything is precisely described in this article.

    Modify a job post's URL

The title of an job is directly linked to its URL. If you have modified the title, the old URL will stay active to avoid 404 errors (redirection errors).

For example, if you edit an old job to use it for a new job : From "Sales manager" to  "Intern in Marketing", the URL of the new job will not be related.

⚠️ You cannot change the URL of a job that has already been published!

To modify the URL, you have to clone the offer, and edit the title before saving it. Then, click on "Save & Preview" to obtain the new URL address.

Please watch the GIF below to understand what you should do:

Change the "Who are they" section of a job post

By default the description of the company in your jobs within Welcome to the Jungle is the same description you have in your organization profile.

But for specific cases, you can use the Welcome to the Jungle Solutions ATS to edit the description for a specific job.

From the Welcome to the Jungle Solutions ATS, to customize the description of a given job, go to the editing form and click on the toggle button: "Write a custom company description for this job ".

Once the description is added, click on " Update" and the new description will be displayed on your job post.

2 - Change the status of a job post

Change the status of a job post

To set a job as "draft" or archive it, you have to select the option on the dropdown menu at the bottom right and select the correct option:

    • Set as draft = The job goes back in the "Active Jobs" section but remains invisible for candidates.
    • Publish = The job goes back in the "Active Jobs" section and will be live on Welcome to the Jungle / your Welcome to the Jungle Solutions ATS career website.
    • Unlisted = the job is published, but not listed on our job board; candidates will be able to apply only if they have access to the job link (only available with a Welcome to the Jungle subscription).
    • Archive = The job is removed from all websites and removed from your "Active Jobs".

Refresh the publication date of a job post

To update the job post publication date, you have to change the status from Published to Draft or Archive, and repeat the manipulation in the opposite direction (see screenshot below)!

Depending on the time and the job, we advise you to refresh a job if you have not yet found the right talent approximately every two weeks.

βš οΈ You need to find the right balance and not refresh the job posts every day. Candidates who are actively looking for work do not want to see the same job on every search they do, particularly if their profile has not been selected. Posting your job posts too often can seriously damage your employer's branding, this is why we recommend a frequency of 15 days 😊.

However, if you have strategic or urgent hiring requirements, our feature Job booster feature will be better suited to your needs. Your job will be boosted without any negative impact on your employer brand!

After several studies, we have observed that candidates are more inclined to click on and apply for a boosted job than a job that is republished regularly.
